The 2009 ESPY Awards highlighted the best athletes and wildest plays from the past year in sports, and many of those honored took advantage of ESPN The Magazine ESPYS Style Studio. Over a three-day stretch in July, the biggest names in sports and entertainment dropped by the Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, taking a look at the hottest new products and fashions in the world’s trendiest city. Santonio Holmes and Ben Roethlisberger helped represent the Super Bowl champ Steelers, while Evan Longoria, Carl Crawford and David Price showed up for the American League champion Tampa Bay Rays. Tim Tebow and Matthew Stafford offered a glimpse of football’s future, and UConn hoops hero Maya Moore celebrated the Huskies’ undefeated season. Volleyball star Misty May-Treanor and gymnasts Nastia Liuken and Shawn Johnson led a crew of medal-winning Olympians. For three days, the Standard was the center of the sports universe, with a star-studded guest-list to prove it.
