How does the entire sports year revolve around a single game?
ESPN The Magazine has a little something to do with it…
In its 8th consecutive year, The Mag’s NEXT Event was the social anchor of Super Bowl weekend, allowing advertisers to leverage the ESPN brand while the world watched.
ESPN The Magazine created an event that nearly overshadowed the game itself. The world’s top athletes and celebrities strolled the red carpet at the exclusive Friday night NEXT Event
The best word we can use to describe ESPN The Magazine’s 8th annual NEXT event is, well NEXT. More than ever before, the party embraced its own image, turning an Indianapolis warehouse into a forward-looking tecnologically advanced MEGA-EXPERIENCE!
ESPN’s Marcellus Wiley and Charissa Thompson hosted the inaugural Social Studio, a lounge dictated to social media content creation and sharing. Celebrities and athletes tweeted throughout the event, while traditional entertainment had its own place as well. NEXT athlete, Cam Newton (who happens to be a pretty decent QB, too) introduced Drake, who brought the house down along with DJ D-Nice.
When the last tweet floated off the big screen, guests were left wondering just how ESPN The Magazine could top this year’s effort when we run it back in New Orleans in 2013.
