Aspen Daily News
The daily paper in the Roaring Fork Valley increased involvement with the event by distributing the Winter X Games program guide to 85 drop locations from Aspen to Summit County. The program was printed a week prior to the event allowing for the larger distribution plan. Close to 20,000 guides were passed out at Buttermilk during the event

The Westword
This Denver based Ruxton Group weekly alternative paper continued support of the Winter X Games with web-based promotional placements in its valued Denver online market.

RISE Magazine
In January 2008, RISE Magazine joined forces with ESPN, to expand its reach even further. Founded in 1997 as SchoolSports, ESPN RISE Magazine recognizes the outstanding work of student-athletes both nationally and locally. With 25 local editions and a million readers per issue, ESPN RISE Magazine is distributed directly to 7,000 high schools throughout the country. The magazines are displayed in high traffic areas such as cafeterias, hallways, classrooms, and locker rooms. Winter X Games teamed up with RISE and the local Colorado edition, which reaches over 200,000 high school students, on a Winter X Games 13 contest where the winner would get the chance to attend the event and cover it as a high school correspondent. The winner’s entries were posted on an online blog on the ESPN Rise website.
