BMX Vert

Vert – has become a favorite of action sports fans who revel in seeing riders soar several feet above the top of the halfpipe, which is referred to as the “deck.” The halfpipe for X Games 15 is 60-feet wide with 11-foot transitions and two-feet of vert. The riders worked the ramp from wall to wall combining technical big airs and lip tricks.

BMX Park

Street

Park – offered riders the opportunity to test their skills on a 100 percent transition-focused design – blending a variety of terrain and obstacles into one seamless course.

BMX Big Air

Big Air – featured six BMX athletes who had the option of dropping in from either a 60-foot or 80-foot high perch, which then launched them over their choice of a 50-foot or 70-foot gap and continuing into a 27-foot quarter-pipe.

BMX Street

Street – featured simple, raw street features such as stairs, concrete rails and ledges, and air features such as street style gaps.

Moto X Competitions

Moto X Best Trick

Best Trick – riders made the impossible possible, pulling off a single, one shot maneuver to earn points from the judges and icon status from the fans.

Moto X Best Whip

Best Whip – riders crossed the barriers between freestyle and racing by showcasing their ability to throw a 350-pound machine sideways and bring it back with style.

Moto X Step Up

Step Up – riders lined up 30 feet from a near vertical wall of dirt, and in this motorcycle version of the high jump, grabbed a fistful of throttle and clicked into gear to see who could launch themselves highest over a bar high overhead.

Moto X Freestyle

Freestyle – riders tackled a complex dirt course made up of a variety of different features – some dirt, some metal – and challenged overall riding skills while integrating tricks throughout their overall run.

Moto X Super X Racing

SuperMoto – a motorcycle race that consisted of pavement and dirt for a combination of on and off road racing allowing competitors from different forms of motorcycle racing to compete against each other on a level playing field.

Moto X SuperMoto

Skateboard Big Air Rail Jam

Big Air Rail Jam – featured a gap to rail element that was added to the Big Air Ramp. Skaters gapped off the 50-foot Big Air kicker to a 20-foot long rainbow rail.

Skateboard Big Air

Big Air – featured athletes skating down a 60-80-foot high roll-in, choosing to launch over a gap 50 or 70 feet long and continuing into a 27-foot quarter-pipe. This discipline was developed by skateboard legend Danny Way and is showcased exclusively at the X Games.

Skateboard Street

Street – showcased skaters performing tricks in an existing concrete plaza, complete with stair sets, banks, manual pads and ledges.

Park – is a transition based event. It was a fast-flowing course completely made of concrete at X Games 15 and is modeled after some of the best concrete skateparks. New for 2009 - all of the bowls were upgraded to a concrete surface.

Rally Car Racing Competition

Rally Car Racing

Rally Car Racing – the fastest event at the X Games, closed X Games 15 on Sunday at The Home Depot Center complex (in and around the soccer stadium) for a fourth straight year in the "Super Special." Rally Car Racing featured drivers racing street legal cars on closed sections of roads called "stages." The goal in rally is to accumulate the lowest elapsed driving time on a prescribed course. The X Games Rally features a "Super Special" stage in and around the Home Depot Stadium.
