Village Voice/LA and OC Weekly

Village Voice owns papers LA and OC Weekly, with a combined readership of one million, provided an unprecedented amount of support for X Games 14. The support included an integrated media plan of 3 Full Page ads in both LA/OC Weekly, Insert into LA/OC Weekly on 7/30 with 31K overrun (includes production, printing, inserting, and delivery onsite), two promotional newsletters in LA/OC Weekly, online Banners in LA/OC Weekly for pre-sale, online banners on sites over rest of campaign.

LA Times / Brand X

Run of 6 ads total in the Sports section of the LA Times including three in East LA distribution (7/16, 7/17, 7/19) and three ads in West LA distribution (7/23, 7/24, 7/26); Online banner ad run from 7/24-7/31 on latimes.com. Brand X run of ads included full page spread on 7/22 & 7/27 along with two full page ads on 7/29 & 7/30.

Transworld

One-year subscription (to any one of the 6 TransWorld titles) included with X Games 15 ticket purchase on July 31 and August 2. To be promoted with web-banners on TWSkate, TWMotocross, TWRideBMX websites (total of 150,000 impressions during the week leading up to the event), Inclusion of X Games Banner Ad and blurb in TransWorld Skate/Moto/BMX e-newsletters, banners and blurbs in the 2 bi-weekly newsletters leading up to the event. Pre-sale opportunity offered to all TW newsletter subscribers with a link to the offer in June editions (TWSkate – 6/11/09, RIDEbmx - 6/4/09, TWMoto – 6/2/09).

Inland Empire Weekly

To promote X Games in the moto-centric Inland Empire, X Games ran two full page ads in the 7/16/7/23 issues of this weekly publication. As added value, X Games also received a two-week run with a banner on IEWeekly,com, MySpace Bulletin blast three times weekly and 10K flyer distribution weekly.

Dispatch Magazine

Only publication with presence inside 75% of the schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District, distributed to over 120,000 students monthly. The support included and X Games ad and booth at all Dispatch school events in July. These events were held weekly at different Los Angeles area schools and gave X Games the opportunity to pass out event information.

Skinnie Magazine

A free magazine with a circulation of 40,000 magazines per month distributed at over 350 locations throughout Los Angles, Orange County, Long Beach, the Inland Empire, Las Vegas and San Diego. X Games was featured in a full-color, half-page ad inside the magazine’s July issue. The magazine’s street team distributed X Games promotional merchandise throughout southern California. They also provided e-mail blasts through their internal mailing list as well as their MySpace page. X Games was also given a banner ad on the magazine’s homepage for the month of July.

Image Magazine

This magazine is distributed via direct-mail to over 50,000 of the highest-income households in Southern California. We were able to negotiate a barter deal whereby X Games received a full-page ad in the July 23 issue at no hard cost.
