Promotions
- X Games held promotions at LA Live – Ticket Kick-Off Event, Surfing America, Lake Elsinore Storm All-Star Game, LA Angels of Anaheim and LA Dodgers games in late June and July. Promotions included booth presence, in-game jumbotron spots and athlete appearances.
- Area colleges were sent information to their summer school sessions and student centers.
- Summer camps and Beyond the Bell, a branch of the Los Angeles Unified school district which runs all their after-school programs, were targeted to attend the events.
- Skate parks and other after school programs were provided with X Games information and targeted to attend the event.
- Several public schools are on a year-round system and were in attendance during the X Games.
- US Open of Surfing X Games booth the weekend before X Games in Huntington Beach, CA – over 300,000 spectators were in attendance.
