Village Voice/LA and OC Weekly

Village Voice owns papers LA and OC Weekly, with a combined readership of one million, provided an unprecedented amount of support for X Games 14. The support included an integrated media plan of X Games ads, contest ads in print, online ads for the contest and web banners promoting the event, editorial in print and email blast support. Additionally, the paper inserted a custom spectator guide on 7/31 with schedules and maps the week of X Games which served as the official event program. Three full-page color ads were run on the following dates: 6/19, 7/17 and 7/24.

LA Times/Metromix

Ran four two ads in both the LA Times and their weekly entertainment magazine – Metromix. LA Times - 7/24 1/2 Page AD, B&W, in Calendar section of LA Times. 7/28 Border AD, B&W in sports section of LA Times. Distribution - 2 million weekly.

Dispatch Magazine

Only publication with presence inside 75% of the schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The support included X Games ads and an X Games booth at all Dispatch school events in June and July. These events were held weekly at different Los Angeles area schools and gave X Games the opportunity to pass out event information.

Skinnie Magazine

A free magazine with a circulation of 40,000 magazines per month distributed at over 350 locations throughout Los Angles, Orange County, Long Beach, the Inland Empire, Las Vegas and San Diego. X Games was featured in a full-color ad inside the magazine’s July issue as well as the outside back cover. The magazine’s street team distributed X Games promotional merchandise throughout southern California. They also provided e-mail blasts through their internal mailing list as well as their MySpace page. The magazine also utilized their website to give X Games presence on line, as well as coordinating and hosting 4 X Games pre-parties.
